  • What is the Chicago Film Symposium?

    The Chicago Film Symposium is a one-day event showcasing short documentaries and narrative films by Chicago-based Black filmmakers. It is hosted by Black Film Club Chicago and Black Women Directors, aiming to celebrate and elevate local Black talent in the film industry.

  • When and where is the symposium taking place?

    The symposium will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at the Sisters in Cinema Media Arts Center, located in South Shore, Chicago at 2310 E. 75th St. There is free street parking available and it is also accessible by public transit: the #75 bus, the #J14 bus, and the Metra Electric train all stop nearby.

  • What is the schedule for the day?

  • How can I purchase tickets?

    Free tickets are available here. Donations are welcome but optional!

  • Are food and beverages available at the event?

    Yes, food and beverages will be provided and we will have breaks in between the screenings and panels so attendees can get refreshments.
